Gunnar J. Gitlin is the principal of the Gitlin Law Firm, P.C. in Woodstock, Illinois, a firm exclusively devoted to family law. The Gitlin Law Firm is the only firm of its size in Illinois which all the lawyers are Fellows of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.  Mr. Gitlin has lectured nationally and throughout Illinois for organizations including various regional bar associations such as DuPage County, Kane County, McHenry County and Winnebago Bar Association. Mr Gitlin's publications include being the author of three chapters in Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education including two chapters regarding custody. Mr. Gitlin is listed in Best Lawyers in America, 2007-10. He is also listed as an Illinois Leading Lawyer and Super Lawyer. Gunnar has received the A-V peer review designation through Martindale-Hubbell. As a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Gunnar is a Vice President of the Board of Directors. In 2007, Attorney Gitlin was awarded the Michael S. Cohen award for continuing commitment and contribution to the professional education of matrimonial lawyers. In 2007, Attorney Gitlin was also given the President's Special Recognition Award by the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Gunnar is chairman of the McHenry County Collaborative Divorce Practice Group.
